TAINTED

How do people with deeply held beliefs of any ilk actually see non-believers, the other? Can they ever truly understand antithetical views flavoured with passions equal to their own? How do their beliefs and emotional attachments physically define how the brain interprets and forms into sight what is before them?

The series “Tainted”, self-portraits reflected off water, explores how we see ourselves and others and how they might see us. The camera is in effect the mind’s eye, it is seeing an image which has been distorted by water symbolically representing e-motion, which by nature influences how the brain interprets and projects sight to us. Judgement, being part of this series is open to interpretation by each individual viewer as their own mind processes and decides what exactly it is they are seeing.
